From 2021 to 2023, I had the opportunity to pursue a business venture in Chicago, IL. My husband and I, along with other business partners, acquired two mixed-use commercial buildings and opened two bar concepts that opened in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Tasked as creative director and project manager, our mission was to differentiate ourselves from the vast number of watering holes in the market. Inspired by our group's ties to LA, we decided to bring the California desert to Chicago by way of earthy tones, Joshua trees, and agave spirits. From there we directly oversaw the buildouts, hired contractors, interior designers, muralists, and staff to bring our concept to life.

Since opening, Desert Hawk has been featured in Eater, The Infatuation, and other local publications, recognized for its footprint in the up-and-coming area of Wicker Park, Chicago.

Low Horse opened in 2024 and is the sister concept to Desert Hawk, featuring a cozy interior, whiskey-based cocktails, and DJs spinning vinyl.
